(USA)–And, Food for the Hungry is getting one of only 27 grants provided by the United States Agency for International Development. The monies are earmarked for development of a new HIV/AIDS program to Ethiopia. USAID began encouraging these programs after realizing AIDS prevention includes a change in the behaviors that lead to contracting the disease. Food for the Hungry was a good fit for this partnership. The agency says it exists to fulfill a God-given mandate to help people overcome both physical and spiritual hungers.
