(Nicaragua)–Poverty and malnutrition continues to plague the streets of South and Central America. The overwhelming physical needs are opening doors for the Gospel. Missionary Sandra Livermore is partnering with area churches in Nicaragua. “What we try to do is help the nationals minister to their own people. The supply of food is not very good, so, there’s starving children and starving families. Anybody that’s trying to do ministry in a neighborhood, we can help them establish a feeding center.” Livermore adds that there is much to pray about. “The government is really holding back on helping the agriculture industry go forward. There’s not a lot of jobs that people can go do for manual labor. I would say the leadership and the children that we’re ministering to just need to be covered with the blood of Jesus and strengthened everyday as they walk through their lives.” Livermore is preparing to head back to Nicaragua this summer. She’s been staying at D&D Missionary Homes in Florida while in the United States.
