(Mexico) — Despite opposition and discouragement, two evangelical missionaries are pioneering evangelism in a Mexico City suburb. Ken MacHarg of the Latin America Mission reports: “Since the first day she arrived in the Zapata neighborhood, LAM missionary Mirna Sotomayor knew without a doubt that God wanted her there in spite of some opposition. Along with missionary Diana Garrett, Myrna has opened a Christian community center where, in addition to tutoring programs, they operate children’s clubs, house a community library, host groups for youth and women and hold a prayer service every Sunday night. The women’s commitment to the Lord is to evangelize as part of what they do. Diana says that they do it in a personal way, as part of the other things they are doing. They report they have seen God open the door in so many ways in the school in spite of not being able to speak openly about the Gospel. For Mission Network News, I’m Ken MacHarg.”
