(USA)–And finally, today has been declared the National Day of Reconciliation by both houses of congress in the United States. Doctor Frank Wright with the D. James Kennedy Center for Christian Statesmanship says this is an unprecedented event. The members of the House and Senate will gather in the Rotunda beginning at 7:00 PM and no else is allowed present accept the chaplain of the House and chaplain of the Senate. It’s an opportunity for the leadership of our country to gather together and seek the face of God during these times in which we could arguably echo Lincoln’s remarks from 1863, when Lincoln said, we have forgotten God.” Wright says since September 11th, there appears to be a greater openness to the Gospel in Washington.
