(Uganda)–We begin today’s news along the border between Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. In response to a United Nations’ report, Uganda has withdrawn troops and pulled out of 1999 peace accord designed to end a civil war. Grace Ministries International’s Sam Vinton is watching the events for the potential impact on their work in the area. “It seems as though they are moving in directions of trying to get together. It’s going to be interesting to see how the Congolese themselves get together, because with all their tribal differences, and agendas they have, how they are going to work together will be the crux of how successful this whole issue is going to turn out.” Vinton says there is much to pray about. “We just need to keep praying that for peace, and then, that in spite of the problems, to thank the Lord that the Gospel is going forth…to thank the Lord that churches are being started, thank the Lord that people are being saved. God is at work because He’s sovereign, and it may not be exactly the way we would like to see it, but, His Word is powerful.”
