We begin today’s newscast in Mozambique where international aid efforts continue to pour into the flood-ravaged country. Shelter Now International’s Jeff Johnstone says they have recently decided the location of their work in the country, but faced an unexpected obstacle. “We had planned to go into Mozambique a couple of weeks ago, however, we did have some difficulty getting into the country. They had been issuing some emergency visas at the airport on arrival, however, we discovered that those were curtailed. I don’t anticipate that there will those types of difficulties anymore as long as everyone is aware of the fact that you’re going to have to go through difficult channels now-and it’s just a matter of preparation.” Johnstone says they’ll be working in XaiXai to build shelter, but also to bring the hope of Christ. “Right now, we’re looking at providing shelter to about six-thousand households in that area, pending funding. We have two areas that we can share the Gospel, through the provision of the relief materials and efforts-[and] again, our workers are open to sharing the Gospel with those that they serve.”
