MENA Leadership Center walks alongside believers wrestling with God

By October 18, 2024

Middle East/North Africa (MNN) — The MENA Leadership Center helps equip Christians in the Middle East and North Africa for faithful leadership in the Body of Christ.

Right now, that means they are walking with believers who are asking hard questions about the past year.

Fadi Sharaiha with the MENA Leadership Center shares some of the questions one university student was asking: “Do you think that God isn’t fair or God loves war?”

Sharaiha responded to the student by pointing to what the cross of Christ says about God. “Speaking of justice, yes, He is just. But also speaking of love, God is love. Mercy and justice coming together is beautiful whenever we look at Jesus.”

“What we [at the MENA Leadership Center] try to do is pray with the people, with the leaders, and also refer them: ‘Go, meet Jesus, listen to Him, talk to Him, ask Him those questions,'” Sharaiha explains.

Sharaiha says some questions are beyond our human intelligence or wisdom to understand.

“So we need to go back to the Bible, and we need to go back to the Holy Spirit to speak to our souls, to our hearts,” he says, and then asks for earnest support in prayer.

“Pray, pray, and pray is very important at this point — because we don’t have answers, just to be very honest about this. We need the Lord to answer those questions. We need the Holy Spirit to move in a mighty way and then change death into resurrection and life.”

You can also support the MENA Leadership Center and local churches by praying for wisdom and for protection against division. Learn about their upcoming courses for Christian leaders.

“Pray for the church to be united and that they go back to the Bible, and they go back to Jesus,” Sharaiha says.
