Lebanon (MNN) — Summer break is supposed to be a fun time for kids, full of play dates with friends and adventure. However, “there is so much accumulated trauma in Lebanon,” Nuna with Triumphant Mercy Lebanon says.
People struggle just to put food on the table. Poverty is at an all-time high. Fun is rarely a priority for most families.
“The parents are so depressed and overwhelmed with the economic pressure that they have no time for their kids. So, the kids are left alone,” she continues.
“The rate of suicide among young people is getting so high.”
Triumphant Mercy is reintroducing kids to the joy of summer. “[We’re] having basketball, football, dance, many activities for the kids to get out of the house [and] get in an atmosphere where they can have fun,” Nuna says.
As the children play and interact with their peers, “they can release all the tension or frustration. This is helping their emotional and mental health.”

Yesterday, believers threw a party just because they could – and the kids needed it. “We [gave] all these kids sports outfits with our logo, their name, and a number. We’re having cake and a real celebration, and this is what’s been missing in their lives,” Nuna says.
“Nothing is for celebration now in Lebanon. It’s so heavy, and people don’t have means [for] celebrating anything.”
Pray kids will make Jesus their Savior and Lord as they experience His love through Triumphant Mercy Lebanon. Help from people like you keeps the ministry going.
“Everything we do is full of the Gospel message. The Gospel is not only salvation; it’s a whole life [application.] We have a holistic approach, catering to the whole being,” Nuna says.
