India (MNN) — India’s Gospel workers face major challenges due to COVID-19, but they’re also seeing positive growth.
“We’ve been encouraged to see them using some of the new technology available for the administration of the indigenous Church,” John Pudaite of Bibles For The World explains.
Bibles For The World enables community and individual transformation through God’s Word. They operate dozens of outreach ministries in northeast India, from Christian schools to a full-service hospital. “We have been working with our partners in the field through this entire pandemic,” Pudaite says.

Extended lockdowns proved difficult for seminary students. “There have been a lot of challenges for students in more remote areas. Some of them have to travel three to five miles to find the nearest signal to do the online classes,” Pudaite says.
With a little help from Bibles For The World, students overcame these challenges and gained valuable skills. “We’ve helped them get over some of the technical hurdles, and it’s been wonderful to see that [students gained] new skills,” Pudaite says.
“I know these things will be put to use in the future, for the spreading of the Gospel all over India.”
Pray believers will have wisdom and innovation. “Continue to pray for the body of Christ in India. We can see light at the end of the tunnel here as a whole, but we know there are a lot of challenges ahead,” Pudaite says.
