Greece (MNN) — The European Union has begun using “sound cannons” to keep migrants from entering Greece through the Turkish border. The truck-mounted devices can emit as much noise as a jet engine.

This, combined with high-tech sensors and cameras, sends a forbidding message to anyone trying to cross the border.
Tasos Ioannidis of AMG International says the EU worries it can’t support the millions of refugees passing through Turkey. “Because the number of refugees that you’re talking about is significant. It would basically destabilize the situation in Europe. Over the past five years, a lot of countries in the European Union have become a lot less welcoming towards the refugees because of the large number of refugees that have already come into the European Union.”
AMG serves refugees who come into Greece, providing for their needs and setting them up for life in Europe. They have facilities in the Athens area, as well as in Thessaloniki. Ioannidis says, “Pray for our partners and our national workers in those countries as they minister to the refugees. Pray they will be able to show the love of Christ and that they will be able to tell people about Jesus as they have the opportunity.”
