International (MNN) — God often moves mightily in the Muslim world through dreams and visions during Ramadan. The Islamic holy month begins at nightfall tonight.
“We’re praying that God sends a lightning flash from heaven into the Muslim world that will just shake them up. And they’ll say, ‘Lord, who are you?’,” Uncharted Ministries’ Tom Doyle says.
“They’re seeking God, but they’re lost. They need Jesus.”
Global COVID-19 lockdowns mean parts of Ramadan will look different this year. See our full pandemic coverage here. Social distancing orders prevent traditional means of fellowship, so many Muslims will turn to online alternatives. It’s the perfect atmosphere for Uncharted Ministries’ new initiative called I Found the Truth.
“We are praying for millions of Muslims to see these testimonies of former Muslims sharing about Jesus, what He did in their life, and they’ll be able to take that step toward the cross and eventually give their life to Christ,” Doyle says.
Resources for ‘such a time as this’
Recognizing the power of digital media, and the unprecedented circumstances surrounding this coronavirus pandemic, I Found the Truth Project Leader Josh Doyle says now was the time to launch a decades-old vision.
“I Found the Truth has been a 20-year vision of my dad’s; he’s wanted to make videos of former Muslims who have amazing testimonies of how Jesus impacted their life and changed them,” Josh Doyle says.
“We wanted to create a safe space for Muslims to come and learn about Jesus.”
As described here, Ramadan is a critical time on the Islamic calendar:
Muslims use the month of Ramadan to focus on their connection to God, reflect on their lives, and spend quality time with friends and family. Fasting during Ramadan is also one of the five pillars of Islam.
The Uncharted Ministries team designed I Found the Truth with “seeking Muslims” in mind. Muslims who are curious about Jesus can ask questions in a secure discussion forum, and Christians from a Muslim background share their testimonies in a five-part video series. Watch Season One here.
“Season One is a collection of five testimonies and we hope to build on that to do a Season Two that’s even bigger. We hope that they can go viral and that the message of Christ gets out there to seeking Muslims,” Josh Doyle says.
“We hope that we can get them to our website to communicate with them, love on them, and to answer some of their questions about Jesus in a safe space.”
Find your place in the story
Pray that God uses this initiative to bring many Muslims to Christ. Ask the Lord to lead “seeking Muslims” to the I Found the Truth website.
“We’re not here to just shove a message down someone’s throat; we want them to see, through other people’s stories, that God is on the move and He’s reaching Muslims around the world,” Doyle says.
“The Lord can take this and bring it to places that we can’t go, and He can bring it into homes where we may not be allowed, and use it for His glory.”
