USA (MNN) – In 2017 Keys for Kids will be diving into new plans and ideas, and one these just so happens to be an app.

As Keys for Kids continues to be more globally focused, it recently raised money to create a new state-of-the-art app for kids called the Next Generation Mobile App.
Now that Keys for Kids’ match grant for the app has been finalized, the ministry is moving forward in making this dream a reality.
“The state of the art app is going to be the foundation of everything that we do through Keys for Kids. Whether it be through print and electronic print or audio distribution, translations, animation,” Keys for Kids’ Executive Director Greg Yoder says.
“But it’s something that kids are going to want to be on. It’s going to be something that’s going to point them to scripture every time they’re on it, and it’s going to be fun.”
However, the process to get the app up and running will take about a year. But it’s an app well worth waiting for. The Next Generation Mobile App will help kids engage with the key to God’s kingdom, His word, and the Gospel.
One of the ways the app does this is through a feature similar to the talking tom app. Kids will be able to interact with the app and listen to stories told by Keys for Kids’ character, Zack. For any kid, this is feature is one to grab hold of the attention span and hopefully help cultivate a mind and heart for Jesus.

But besides the new and exciting app, Keys for Kids has some other plans for the new year, too. The ministry is coming alongside other ministries to help create devotionals for kids that are accessible both in print and in audio. Yoder says the audio devotional will be able to be used through a solar-powered audio device called Keys for Kids’ Story Tellers.

And Keys for Kids’ stories will also be available, starting in English. But why English? Well, there are 67-nations using English as its first language. English has become a nearly universal language and opens up opportunities to share the Gospel with kids beyond the United States.
This fact is so important because about 70 percent of people who accept Christ do so between the ages of 4 and 14, making what is called the 4/14 window critical. As Yoder explained before, Keys for Kids basically has 10 years to get the Gospel into the lives of kids before the percentages decrease.*
So as Keys for Kids endeavors to serve God’s kingdom in 2017, will you pray? If so, pray especially for protection over both Keys for Kids and the children it serves from attacks from the enemy. Pray also that Keys for Kids’ plans would be the same ones God has already ordained. And if they’re not, pray that God would set their paths straight again.
