India (MNN/CAM) — Imagine the sultry stillness of summer heat and children playing in the dirt. Sounds pretty boring, right? Then imagine games and skits and the message of the love of Jesus Christ reaching the children, like a fresh breeze.
That’s what is coming to hundreds of kids in India this summer. How? Christian Aid Mission’s local partners in Andhra Pradesh are hosting summer Bible camps.
Since Christian Aid Missions aims to reach the unreached and share the good news of God, Andhra Pradesh is a perfect place to hold the camps. Less than 2% of the nearly 50 million people in the city are Christian.
Through these Bible camps, kids are able to enjoy games, activities, a meal, clean drinking water, skits, and the message of Christ.
Christian Aid says kids are coming from multiple villages to meet and attend. While many parents are working, that might seem like a problem for transportation. But Christian Aid Mission’s partners are providing that, too. The children load the buses in the morning and enjoy the time of their lives throughout the week.
And, it’s not just the kids who get to hear about the Gospel. Their families do, too.
Native missionaries and ministry volunteers are walking into the villages to befriend children and their families. They play with them, offer meals, and invite them to the ministry center for camp.
Volunteers are expecting around 100 children to show up at each of the five camps spread throughout the city. And, they could use your support to sponsor the events. Your help could mean sharing the Gospel with an entire family for the first time. Click here and scroll down to July 24 to help!
Also, pray that parents will allow children to attend and that the message of Jesus will connect with children and their families.
