USA (EFCA) — It’s summer and the time of year when kids’ creative abilities meet work ethic.
The result is unique enterprise popping up in every neighborhood. From lemonade stands to making jewelry and selling eggs, kids are some of the most creative entrepreneurs on the planet, finding hope and a future by using the gifts God gave them.
It’s also a time when Vacation Bible Schools begin. It’s a great opportunity to teach kids what God is doing in the lives of children around the world and how to care for the needs of these children. That’s where the Evangelical Free Church of America gets involved. Global Fingerprints, the child sponsorship program of the EFCA, has put together some outstanding free resources to mix into VBS curriculum.
The goal of Hope Stand is to connect American children with children around the world by opening their eyes to the needs of their brothers and sisters and giving them an opportunity to care for others.
Children will be connected through stories, crafts, and games. Games are the universal language of children. Children will also have an opportunity to care by giving money to help provide a hopeful future for children around the globe.
Why call it Hope Stand? It helps raise money so Global Fingerprints kids can start their own small businesses and find a future.
Backyard Bible Clubs, VBS, summer homeschooling groups, and many others can access a kit of resources to get started:
- Stories of real Global Fingerprints kids from each of the six sponsorship sites
- Instructions for the cultural games Global Fingerprints play
- Ideas for making crafts that Global Fingerprints may make and sell in their country
