Mali (MNN) — Church buildings may be erected all the time in the United States, but in Muslim-dominated Mali, a new building will make a statement.
The new office building of the Mali Evangelical Protestant Church Association will be a "symbol of autonomy" and church growth, says the president of the church association, Pastor Youssouf. The multi-story building will legitimize the Christian church in the country as worth consideration, even of Muslims.
Of course, the main purpose for the building is to aid the church. Offices will be available for several church leaders, and a library will also provide numerous resources for nearby pastors. This will give pastors the ability to create more Biblically-sound messages and reach the masses with the Truth.
The building project is in the middle stages. The second floor has been completed, and the third floor is starting to go up. Funding has been sufficient so far, but more will be needed in the long run.
Avant Ministries has been supporting this project since the beginning and will continue to. According to an Avant report, enough funding is available to keep the project running till the Spring, but not enough is in yet to complete the project. Pastor Youssouf confirms that all donations will be used solely for the building project.
Mali is one of the 25 poorest countries in the world. Spiritual poverty is great as well. Please pray that this new building would provide more believers with more knowledge to reach more nonbelievers with the Gospel.
