Andaman Islands, India (MNN) — A medical outreach in India's Andaman and Nicobar Islands meant improved eyesight for 69 children. Gospel for Asia workers and an eye doctor conducted a medical clinic at a Bridge of Hope center, where they distributed free medicine and prescribed glasses for 14 children.
"The eye clinic was a great blessing to everyone who attended," wrote GFA's correspondent. "In addition to the Bridge of Hope children, eight parents also had the privilege to have their eyes checked. Each of them suffered from eye problems."
This clinic may have been the first chance for these children to have their eyes checked, as the underprivileged families they come from likely could not afford treatment.
Now, the children and parents who were served at the medical camp have the knowledge they need to care for their eyesight. And when they go to school, the children with new glasses can study much easier than before.
This medical camp is part of Bridge of Hope's outreach to care for children with little or no knowledge of health or hygiene practices. Bridge of Hope teaches good health habits and provides medical care while pointing children and families to Jesus, the One who can heal their diseases and their hearts.
