USA (MNN) — A Life Action Ministries family, Lane and Janet Johnson and their children, are asking for prayers after a devastating house fire last weekend.
However, the Johnson's are also rejoicing over God's protection.
The Johnsons were on their way to a summit speaking engagement in Indiana Saturday, while the Gordon family was staying at the Johnson's home. After most of the Gordon children had been put to bed, smoke alerted them to the fire. Thankfully, everyone was able to evacuate the house. Had the entire family been sleeping, the incident could have been even more tragic.
The house was engulfed in flames, and all of the Johnsons' possessions were destroyed. The Gordons also lost all their immediate belongings in the fire.
Though insurance covers some of the cost of the damage, it is $50,000 short of the cost of the home. Life Action has created the Johnson/Gordon Fire Fund to help recoup these losses.
Following the fire Sunday, the Johnsons stepped outside of their trailer in Indiana to see a rainbow. It was an encouraging reminder of God's faithfulness. Sunday afternoon, they made it home to see first-hand the remains of their home.
