Maoist rebels suspended a blockade of the capital as they await the outcome of parliament's meeting on Friday. In the interim peace, political parties called for a more permanent ceasfire, saying their first priority would be to bring the rebels back under control.
GFA's Bible college is functioning and the radio programs are still on the air. They have more than 550 native missionaries and over 400 congregations in the mountainous country.
"The Christians in Nepal have been caught in the conflict between the king and the Marxist rebels for some time," GFA President K.P. Yohannan notes, "...and God has given them the strength to be a beacon of light in this dark situation. Please pray that He will continue to guard them and strengthen them for whatever lies ahead."
