First Christian radio station in Catalunya, Spain may go on the air soon

Posted: 5 July, 2005

Spain (MNN) ― Much of Europe is difficult to reach with the Gospel. While many profess Christianity, a vast majority of people don't worship in church each week and even fewer are Biblically literate. In Spain, only about one-percent claim to be born again Christians.
Greater Europe Mission wants to do something about that and they're attempting to do it by starting a Christian radio station. GEM's Jorge (jordi) Torres says, "We are working with a national pastor who had a vision to start a new radio station in his province. Many people doubt that (this) can happen, but he's pursuing this vision that he thinks he will reach the people of Catalunya."
Torres says they're pretty close to seeing this happen. "We were pretty close to finishing the building itself. We haven't bought any equipment yet. We got about 21,000 Eros from a church in Europe and we still need 15,000 more for that."
Your gift of support is vital to this outreach. While Spanish is the predominate language spoken in Spain, Catalan is another and that's what make this station unique.
Pray that the funding will be raised for this outreach and that many would hear the clear message of the Gospel once it goes on the air.
