Urbana '03 could impact millions world-wide.

Posted: 26 December, 2003

USA (MNN) ― Urban '03 is just days away. More than 20,000 people will be meeting at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Campaign December 27 through the 31st. It's the largest youth missions conference in the world.
As thousands gear up for Urbana, sponsored by InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, millions more could be impacted around the world. According to InterVarsity's Associate Regional Secretary Evangelism Shannon Marion says this will only succeed when churches and missions work together.
This year more than 11-hundred pastors and church leaders will be attending Urbana. Marion says its a golden opportunity to encourage an improved working partnership. He says, "We know as a college ministry if our students are not involved in churches, were all wet. We want to equip them and train them to reach out on their campus for four years or two years if theyre at a community school. But theyve got to be active in churches in college and after churches."
Marion says theyll use special breakout sessions for pastors and church leaders to introduce them to the ways the two can work together in a coordinated effort to lead others to Christ.
Mission Network News' Joel Hill will be covering the event. Tune in beginning Monday. Urbana '03 begins Sunday.
