Story number 5 for 12 Dec 2001

Posted: 12 December, 2001

And finally, Crossroad Bible Institute is asking Christians to encourage a prison inmate this holiday season. Crossroad's Doctor David Schuringa says Christmas is the most difficult time of the year for prisoners. He says it's lonely and they're forgotten by family. He explains how Christians can help. "Send us a Christmas card and sign their first name only. Do not include an address. And, if they would mail a Christmas card to the Crossroad offices we will include that card with their next Bible study lesson." Schuringa says reaching out in love could encourage prisoners to do the same. "It only takes a spark to get a fire going, you know how the old song goes. When a prisoner is touched by God's grace through His people that can't help, but have an affect upon them and they're going to want to reach out to someone else." Go to CrossroadBible-dot-com to find out where to mail your cards.
