Haiti (MNN) ― Women in Haiti are learning how to build a better life for themselves.

Through two Feminine Training Centers operated by Christian World Outreach (CWO), women learn valuable skills that help them find employment. Or, ladies are able to use their skills in a home business that helps them support their families.

Over 150 Haitian women are registered for classes at the training center, where they can learn skills in sewing, cooking, cake decorating, floral arrangement, crafts or cosmetology.

In a recent visit to one of the centers, a team of women from Denver, Colorado, taught the Haitian students new sewing projects.

"It's been exciting to watch as they've worked with them and sat beside them, and helped those who were having a hard time learning some of the projects," says CWO's Greg Yoder. "[They're] just being the hands of God here and loving on these ladies, and making them feel that they are worth something."

The team was also able to share about Christ.

"We've started each day with a devotion, and the ladies have shared from their hearts what they've gone through, shared their testimonies, and shared what God's done in their lives," says Yoder.

"That's why we do this anyway: to share the Gospel. [This program] opens the door to do that."

Pray for salvation for women whose hearts may have been stirred by the Gospel messages they heard.

"We've planted seeds, and we pray that God will water and help them to grow," Yoder says. Pray also that God would use this program and CWO's training centers for His glory.

"We help people physically, but our goal is to help them have eternal life."
