Zimbabwe (MNN) ― Now that the elections are over, aid agencies are asking Zimbabwe's government to allow them to resume humanitarian work.
According to Associated Press reports, the government has not responded to requests to end a suspension that was imposed in early June.
Operation Mobilization Zimbabwe had to close a day-care center as well as the mobile clinic. Food aid stopped with millions of people dependent on the help.
OM Zimbabwe team has a long history in the country with a training base in Harare, the capital city. They are currently training the Tonga church leadership and supplying Scriptures. Most pastors have almost no training, and many do not even have a Bible in the Tonga language.
The OM team is strengthening the existing Tonga church and planting new churches. Ministry areas include the Field Development team, Vital Support team, Literature team, Church Relations team, Training team, and Evangelism Impact team.
Their program includes a six-month training program, a one-year intensive church-planting training, and a second year of practical church planting. Training is focused on Muslim, urban, child, and cross-cultural evangelism.
While OM is still able to preach the Gospel and pray, they may not help any needy person or meet in groups larger than fifteen. The OM team just started a 21-day Daniel fast. Join them in prayer as they ask God to intervene.
