Middle East (MNN) ― Governments still dominate the television landscape in the Middle East.  One bright spot in the satellite topography is SAT-7 Kids, now six months old.

SAT-7's Debbie Brink says they've been experiencing terrific growth. "In Palestine, that's been where we get the greatest number of responses, both kids and adults. We've created for ourselves a little bit of a problem, in that we're having so many responses that we can hardly keep up with them, which is a very nice problem to have."

SAT-7 Kids is the first and only Arabic Christian channel exclusively for children. This channel aims to make the Gospel of Christ available to an entire generation of young Arabs in a way meaningful to them. The channel airs original dramas, talk shows, educational material, cartoons, music programs and other shows that capture the attention of young viewers.

Because they broadcast the hope of Christ, they are providing a refuge for the kids. Brink says that's what's driving their growth. "What we're attributing it to, I believe, is a real need for the children to have this kind of programming in the region. We're the only Christian programming for children in the region."

The producers of SAT-7 Kids have one goal in mind: to meet the needs and interests of their young viewers. They want children to experience God's love for them and have the Biblical and practical information they need to succeed in life.

The message has found fertile ground. Because of the enthusiastic response, they're also short-handed. Brink urges prayer for their counselors and their wisdom. "The counselors are there to answer the questions that kids and others have. They are able to share their faith, but they have to be very careful."
