USA (MNN) ― 35 counties in the state of Arkansas have been declared federal disasters in the wake of massive flooding. For these residents, it's the second natural disaster in a matter of months.

A CityTeam Disaster Response crew is in Baxter County at the flood zone, helping families survive this devastating disaster. The ministry is aiming at raising $100,000 to aid in the restoration of damaged homes in Baxter County.

Teams are operating out of a ministry base that's been set up in Norfork, AR. They're working on the cleanup of 11 homes that were severely damaged by the flood waters.

In the midst of this disaster, CityTeam members have been blessed with multiple opportunities to minister to the survivors through prayer and by meeting their felt needs.

CityTeam is still in need of portable generators, industrial power washers, brooms, shovels, bleach, protective gear, masks, and gloves.

They're also recruiting teams to act as the hands and feet of Christ among the community in the clean-up effort. The next group of volunteers is scheduled to arrive on May 10, 2008 to continue the clean-up effort. They're also rounding up volunteers for the week of May 17-24.

Please continue to pray for the volunteer teams and the families they are serving.
