The week before may also be life-changing for many young people. One Christian Reformed World Relief Committee missionary had been planning an anti-drug program since early February that she would take to 40-50 schools in the area. They first needed the approval from the inspector general of schools to make it happen. Despite the approval from the National Anti-Drug Agency, the proposition was turned down twice because the schools claimed it was going to be exam week.
Instead, the group will be visiting schools with groups for different reasons: anti-drug focus, native English speaker focus for bilingual schools, or for other presentations which don't need approval. So far they've been invited to three different schools using that approach. The connections made through those visits will be useful for future outreach.
As for the festival, the churches have partnered with the Luis Palau Association and other organizations to create this two-day event. It will be held in a public park in Bucharest. Bands, speakers, athletes and organizations from around Romania, Great Britain and the United States have been invited to come and openly share the Gospel with the city.
