USA (MNN) ― Shockwaves are still being felt around the world in the wake of Open Doors' seventh annual prayer vigil.

Called "Shockwave," the event last week encouraged millions of young people around the world to pray for the persecuted church. For half a century, Open Doors has stood with the persecuted church, building their courage, meeting their needs, sharing their stories and championing their faith.

The ministry also wants to establish their relationship with young people in order to open their eyes early to the world facing believers. That's where Open Doors Underground comes in. They brings together thousands of young people around the world--in Brazil, South Africa, UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Norway, Australia, New Zealand and America--to stand beside their persecuted brothers and sisters.

They are raising awareness about the millions of Christians who are being persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ and to mobilizing young people to do something about it. "Shockwave" is one event where these young Christians are urged to pray specifically for believers living in countries where extreme persecution is reported.

Shockwave organizers encourage participants to remain active on their knees on behalf of the unreached people in these places.
