Romania (MNN) ― The dollar sagged against the 15-nation euro as markets continued to worry about an American recession.

Congressional leaders announced a $150 billion dollar economic stimulus package by putting checks in just about every American's mailbox. Even with the tax rebate announcement and a federal rate cut, the U.S. dollar continued its slide in the global market.

Little Samaritan Mission's Florin Pindicblaj says as the value of the currency continues its downturn, their team is feeling the pinch. "Because of the economy, our support decreased, and the American dollar, compared with the Euro dollar, is much smaller. All the expenses we need to pay in Euro in Romania. For the first time, our broadcasting network in Romania is really at a crossroad."

Radio is an efficient tool in terms of the impact of sharing the Gospel in Romania. The LSM radio networks in Moldova and Romania can reach 14 million people in all--4 million in Moldova and 10 million in Romania.

With God's grace and provision, the Little Samaritan Mission is the largest Christian Radio Network on the European continent, bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to the people of Romania and Moldova.

Pindicblaj says without funding, though, their voice could be silenced. "We are looking now for the coming spring. And I know in the summer, it's winter for the ministries. We'll need more support; otherwise, we'll need to reduce or reconsider our broadcasting in Romania."

Currently, LSM owns and operates 25 radio stations for Christian broadcasting. Programming is primarily in the Romanian language, but there is also music and programming in English especially targeting the younger generation of students, many of them fluent in English.
