Late InterVarsity student's passion for life and sports becomes ESPN story

Jason Ray was the energetic mascot for UNC as well as a leader for InterVarsity at UNC.

USA (MNN) ― ESPN has taken interest in the story of an InterVarsity Christian Fellowship student who passed away unexpectedly early this year.

Jason Ray was the enthusiastic and highly-energetic University of North Carolina Mascot before his untimely death. His energy flowed into his faith in God as well as his passion of all UNC athletics. 

ESPN picked up Jason's story to produce a major segment for their cable network as well as their Web site. It was also used in the October 16 debut of a new ESPN magazine called E:60. 

Ray was a leader at the UNC chapter of InterVarsity. The ESPN story focuses on Ray's passion for life and how he shared it with others. As an organ donor, Ray was able to impact the lives of others even in his death.

As many avid ESPN watchers and readers will see this, pray that Ray's testimony that will reach many sports fans with the hope of Christ.
