USA (MNN) ― Bible Pathway Ministries' Al Joslyn says a past relationship has blossomed into an opportunity to get involved with a fledgling ministry in North Carolina.
Called the Wilderness Hispanic Mission, Bible Pathway is making it easier for Pastor Charles Alonso to focus on a long-range goal for evangelizing Hispanics. "We're helping to build the orphanage, and also training the national people that are in Mexico to be evangelists and pastors to their people. This has been a proven method to be able to win people to Christ."
Alonso bought eight acres of land in Mitchell County, North Carolina with the dream of building a church and a missions training facility. With the help of teams like Bible Pathway's volunteers, the Wilderness Hispanic Church is now on its second leg of the building project. They had hoped to be holding services in the new building this summer and are still praying and hoping that it will happen soon.
The third and final part of the building program will be the sheet-rock work for the walls and the ceiling and then the bathrooms, kitchen, and Sunday school rooms.
The mission also saw the need to share the hope of Christ with a growing number of orphans in Mexico. The team is working to establish a camp (children's home) away from the border cities where children can live and grow in the nurture and admonition of our Lord in an alternative and educational setting.
Says Joslyn, "We are partnering with Alonso to try to help to develop that piece of property to accomplish the orphans' help and to start that little school up so that we can help find people who are called by God to minister to their own people." Funds are needed. Click here if you can help.
