Europe (MNN) ― Greater Europe Mission's eDOT program is doing well. eDOT is their electronic Discipleship, Outreach, & Training program, a distance-learning curriculum.
These programs will be used at 21 eLearning Centers in Europe. eLearning Centers are being set up in both small and large population centers in the more remote regions where they are particularly needed.
These eLearning Centers consist of 6 to 10 computers networked together and linked to email. They are being used to train missionaries, church pastors/leaders, and national workers in eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union in computer literacy skills.
They also provide access to computer-based learning opportunities for pastors, church leaders, and adult believers. More importantly, eLCs link Christian pastors and leaders who cannot come for long-term resident studies at a Bible school or seminary with resident faculty and students via email.
As the program grows, courses are added to fit the needs. The newest course for Portugal is being well-received and is meeting real needs in equipping Portuguese believers for ministry.
Pray for creativity and God's wisdom for the people who are developing other outreach courses. The focus of eDOT's (electronic Discipleship, Outreach, and Training) ministry is to use today's electronic technology to build up the church in Europe so that every person is within reach of a witnessing fellowship.
GEM also needs small teams of people with technical skills who can come to Europe for two weeks to install computers, set up networks, and train national workers how to maintain and manage them. Click here if you can help .
