Findley, OH was hit hard by the swollen Blanchard River. The flooding also hit the headquarters of Mission Possible. Jim Ridge is the Director of Field Ministries with Mission Possible. "We have received about a foot of water in our headquarters office, which caused some damage to our computer systems, and we've lost a lot of supplies and different things we use in our schools in Haiti and the Dominican Republic."
Ridge says despite the flooding, their work in Haiti and the Dominican Republic continues. In fact, on Friday Mission Possible had a bit of a celebration. "We are starting a brand new high school, and 400 kids started school in Barona, Dominican Republic. We're starting a Bible school along with our educational facilities in Haiti, and we had 150 pastors attending a pastors' seminary."
According to Ridge, they have some needs. "We need to replace some things that aren't in our budget. That's just part of the whole process. We don't have flood insurance."
So Mission Possible is looking for financial assistance to help with the replacement and repairs. "We're excited to see what God is going to do. We really feel like whenever we experience trials, God is going to do something bigger than we can see."
